A day of summer-like warmth in Michigan spawned storms on the state’s west side that left thousands without power late Monday.
The National Weather Service reported wind gusts near 40 mph in Muskegon, Ottawa and Kent counties.
Half-inch hail fell in Holland and tree limbs were toppled in Niles, according to the weather service. In Bangor Township, trees and power lines were down; in Wyoming, large tree limbs fell. A utility pole was down at 22 Mile Road NE and Whitefish Road in Sand Lake, according to weather service storm reports. A 3-foot diameter tree was down in Eau Claire. Read More…
